In the meantime, enjoy the health benefits curcumin brings by trying this turmeric powerhouse smoothie for either your first meal of the day, or a smaller serving for a nutritious snack.
Sunshine Milk Smoothie
What you will need:
½ – 1 teaspoon turmeric paste
1 cup nut milk, or 1 tablespoon coconut cream and 1 cup water
½ cup water
2 teaspoons gelatin
1 tablespoon nut butter of choice
2 cubes ice (optional)
¼ cup filtered water
1/8 cup turmeric powdered spice
Pinch ground black pepper (to aid turmeric absorption)
What you’ll need to do:
To make the paste:
Pour half of the water into a saucepan over medium heat
Add turmeric and continually stir as the mixture heats up and thickens
Slowly keep adding the remainder of the water as you stir, so the paste remains smooth, then mix through the pepper
Once cooled, store in a glass container and the paste will last 2 weeks in the refrigerator
To make the smoothie:
Add all ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth
